Help with the Novell Drive
This information is obsolete as of the summer of 2011.
For help, see the information about the current network file storage system
1 What is the Novell Drive?
Each Computer Science students at JMU is allocated some storage on
a departmental server. This server runs Novell software and, hence,
is often calld the "Novell Drive" (or the "N Drive").

2 Access to the Novell Drive from MS-Windows
When you log into a computer running MS-Windows in one of the Departmental
labs, the "Novell Drive" is automatically mounted (usually as the

M: or
N: drive).

You can access the "Novell Drive" from your own computer (if you are
on the "JMU Network") using CIFS

or the Microsoft Client Service for Netware

.

3 Access to the Novell Drive from Linux
When you log into a computer running Linux in one of the Departmental
labs, the "Novell Drive" is NOT automatically mounted. You can
mount it by entering the following in a command shell:

    mount-n

Before you log out, you must remember to unmount the "Novell Driver"
    as follows:

    umnt-n

4 Access to the Novell Drive from OS X
If you are using OS X on your computer, you can access
files on the Novell drive using "native file access"
  (Note: You may need to
    include the
jmuad\ prefix in your eid.)
